Braces in Peoria

For addressing complex dental alignment issues, braces remain a reliable and effective solution in Peoria. They often help achieve faster tooth movement and gap closure compared to some other orthodontic options, which can lead to shorter overall treatment times.

Unlike some newer treatments that require advanced technology or costly equipment, braces are a more affordable option for many patients seeking quality orthodontic care.

Traditional braces consist of metal or ceramic brackets that are securely attached to the teeth. Wires and small elastics or rubber bands link these brackets.

Together, the brackets, wires, and bands apply gentle, continuous pressure to gradually guide your teeth into their desired positions, provided you attend regular adjustment appointments with our orthodontists.

Clarity Clear Aligners in Peoria

Clarity clear aligners have become a favorite choice among both patients and orthodontists in Peoria, offering a popular alternative to traditional braces. Rather than using brackets and wires, this system employs a series of transparent, removable trays that gradually shift your teeth into place.

Crafted from comfortable plastic and custom-fitted to your teeth, these aligners need to be swapped out every one to two weeks according to Dr. Long’s guidance to ensure steady progress.

To achieve the best results, it’s crucial to follow the wear instructions closely. Aligners should be worn between 20 and 22 hours daily throughout your treatment. Missing or skipping aligner wear can slow down progress and lengthen treatment time.

Clarity clear aligners work effectively for many common orthodontic concerns. However, for more complex cases, traditional braces or other treatments might be better suited. Schedule a free consultation with Dr. Long at Central Illinois Orthodontics in Peoria to find out if Clarity aligners are the right fit for you.
